Dead Pool Rules and Procedures

Welcome to the Dead Pool.

Here are the Rules:

1. Select 20 names of folks that are famous enough to be in the top half of the newspaper when they die. No old scientists and folks that people don't know.

2. Send them in list format the the DeadPoolListKeeper in the body of an email:

First Name Last Name (don't use punctuation or anything fancy)

3. Listkeeper will compile the names and email you back a massive list of all picks for all players in a spreadsheet. Picks will be listed in alpha order by first name of the potential stiff. If you select a stiff, you will get a point. If two people select the same stiff, they must share the point. So if 4 people have Carl Birkmeyer, and Carl bites the big one, each person will get .25 of a point.

4. You will be able to compare your picks with others. Look at the list and decide if you want to swap out a name or take your chances sharing with another player. Submit your changes to the ListKeeper. If you feel a pick is BOGUS, like too old or not famous enough, challenge the name and the ListKeeper will consider your gripe, but probably do nothing about it.

5. ListKeeper will do another round of name-changing if needed, and send out the list again for review.

6. ListKeeper will not check to see if your picks are still alive.

7. ListKeeper will send out a final list if anyone comments or needs to make a change, and the game will begin.

8. Watch the news and alert the ListKeeper when a pick dies. ListKeeper will try to keep up with the Dead, but cannot make any guarantees.
